A dynamic-range limiter that holds the signal below a set ceiling. Threshold (in dB) sets the level above which gain reduction begins; Attack and Release set how quickly the level detector responds and recovers, Averaging smooths the applied gain, and Gain trims the output level. Attack, Release and Averaging are set on a logarithmic time scale.
A peak follower tracks the input level, the block reads that level in dB from log and antilog lookup tables and derives a gain that pulls anything above the threshold back down, then smooths that gain before applying it to the signal — all computed one sample-frame per tick inside WaveWarp's sample-per-sample engine.
