Chorus Unit

What it is

Chorus Unit is a single-voice chorus building block: a short, LFO-modulated delay line that thickens a sound. Delay sets the base delay time (20 to 50 ms), Rate the modulation speed (0.05 to 5 Hz), Depth how far the delay is swept and Skew the shape of the sweep. A Modulation selector chooses the LFO waveform — Sine, Triangular, Log (symmetric), Square, Log (asymmetric), Random (uniform) and Random (telegraph). It works in mono and stereo.

How it works

The input is written into a circular delay buffer and read back at a tap position that the modulation wavetable moves up and down at the chosen Rate, with linear interpolation between samples for a smooth, pitch-varying delay. It processes one sample-frame per tick, in step with WaveWarp's sample-per-sample engine.
